I CAME DOWN WITH A SEVERE CASE OF TONSILLITIS WERE I WAS STUCK IN BED FOR A WEEK. I HAD CHILLS,MULTIPLE FEVERS DAILY, WAS FEELING VERY FAINT AND WENT WITHOUT EATING, WALKING, BARELY TALKING, BARELY URINATING AND JUST CONSTANT SPITTING. I BEGAN TO SPIT UP BLOOD AND MUCUS IN THE BEGINNING OF THE INFECTION BUT THEN STOPPED AS THE MEDICATION STARTED WORKING.

i have acute pharyngitis and/or tonsillitis and thankfully taking antibiotics. the thing is i coughed ut one of the abscess in my tonsil and now it feels much better. is this going to complicate things for me or is it best to have them removed?

If tonsillitis is mild, do gaurgles with a glass of warm water with a pinch of salt in it ,every 6 hours or so. Avoid smoking. Take pain relievers like Aspirin.
If the infection is acute with fever & severe pain on swallowing, see ur doc who would prescribe antibiotics. Continue with gaurgles & Aspirin.
If it keeps on coming every so often, u may need surgical removal of tonsils as this condition may result in heart problem later in life. Continued…

Well, I had tonsilitis a while ago, and then, like 2? months ago I got it again. I was just thinking about it, and I started wondering, how do you get it? I’m 13, and the doctor said if I get it two more times this year I’ll have to have them removed. So I was also wondering, if there were ways to prevent from getting it? Any help is appreciated. Naturally i will consult a doctor, but i was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience! I’ve had this sore throat for the past 5 days, it’s not hurting as much as it was, but it came completely randomly, without most flu symptoms such as a cough or runny nose, but the lymph nodes in my neck are swollen and hurt to the touch, and in the week i was experiencing body aches, chills and nausea. Could it be tonsillitis?
